FabFitFun Subscription Box Fall 2019

I have tried a few subscription boxes and saw this one was all the rave. So I gave it a shot and it was great. It had some great products in it as you can see below. Check out the FabFitFun website to learn more and get $10 off your first box.

Also, be sure to watch my unboxing video below.

There is a seasonal subscription and an annual subscription. Each box comes with products that everyone gets and customizable products.

The seasonal box is $49.99 and you get to select 3 customizable products. The rest will be a surprise and chosen by the FabFitFun team.

The annual subscription is $179.99 for 4 boxes, throughout the year. That is about a $5 savings per box. Doesn't sound like much but you also get to choose all the customizable items in your box.

For this box, I chose the seasonal option to test out the box and see what it is like. I will definitely be looking into possibly making my seasonal into an annual subscription.

I actually chose Pure C Mixing Crystals but they sent me the Ear Crawlers by mistake. Talk about great customer service - I emailed them and they responded to let me know they are sending me my missing item.

Moms and Babes Box - Fall 2019

Do you have a subscription box yet? They are everywhere and for everything. The new box I found that is perfect for me is the Moms and Babes box - https://momsandbabesbox.com/. I get stuff for me and for my baby!

There are 3 box choices: moms (really all ladies because there is no baby stuff in this box), moms/toddlers, and moms/infants. I have an 8 month old so I went with the infant one for the new Fall box.

The box is $59 one off or $53.10 per box when you sign up for a subscription. You change your subscription at anytime. Bonus: you can get $10 off when you subscribe to the Moms and Babes email list.

Below you can see the list of items and a video of us unpacking the box.

My Hospital Bag

What do I put in my hospital bag? That is the question you ask yourself over and over again as you get ready for your bundle of joy. I scoured the blogs and google looking for what to pack. Below is my list of things I packed and used, didn't use, and the hospital ended up having. Take a look and choose what you think you need. Remember there are no right answers as to what you can and can't bring!

Things I used and highly recommend:
  • Hair ties (you can never have enough)
  • Chapstick, chapstick and more chapstick (This is a must. Your lips get very chapped during labor)
  • Phone charger (You know you will be posting and sending a billion pictures of that newborn)
  • Warm socks with non-skid (I got some for $5 at Walmart and they are awesome I still wear them. Mine weren't Christmas but the type of sock can be found here)
  • Nursing bras (If you are breastfeeding these are great and comfy! Can be found here)
  • Robe  (They keep you warm and covers that booty, not pictured above)
  • Flannel PJ's (They were super warm in that freezing hospital)
  • Sweater (Again hospitals are always cold)
  • Going home outfit (I chose a maxi dress for roominess and leggings because it's cold in February in Oregon)
  • Toothbrush and tooth paste (Nothing like a fresh mouth)
  • Lotion (My hands get really dry in the winter)
  • Deodorant (So you don't smell after all that sweating)
  • Face wash (A clean face is always refreshing)
  • Brush (You will want to brush you hair after long hours of labor)
  • Makeup (I was one of those ladies that got an epidural and was fixing my makeup lol)
  • Flip flops (They are always good to have as quick slip on shoes, not pictured above)
  • Extra bag (for all that extra stuff you get at the hospital)
  • Baby book (For those little foot prints)
  • Popsicles (these were amazing during labor and nurses kept them in the freezer, not pictured above)

Don't forget dad and baby!

For Baby:

  • Car seat (Can't go home without it, not pictured above)
  • Going home outfit (I know you already have that cute outfit ready to take all those going home pictures of)
  • Extra onesies in different sizes (Never know how big or small they will be)
  • Blanket (You will probably get some at the hospital, but nothing like a soft blanket from home)

For Dad:

  • Clothes (Dads are easily forgotten in the hustle and bustle. Make sure he has something comfy to wear while he is helping you through the pain)
  • PJs (Needs something to sleep in)
  • Toiletries (Dads need the essentials too)
  • Phone Charger (For all those pictures that will be taken)

I brought, didn't use, but glad I brought just in case:
  • Hard candy (I actually totally forgot I had these but could have used one!)
  • Book/magazine (Once, I got my epidural I slept but this was good to have just in case)
  • Cash for vending machine (We ended up bringing some snacks)
  • Sports bra (I ended up just wearing my nursing bra)
  • Dry Shampoo (I luckily got to take a shower before the hospital so my hair wasn't too bad but you never know)
  • Nipple cream (I used this the day after we left the hospital. He bit my nipple wrong and boy was this a life saver)

I brought and the hospital had (check with your hospital to see what they provide. They told me most of these but I just wanted to be safe):

  • Blanket (I have this listed in the baby section but the hospital blankets are never as soft and nice as the ones from home)
  • Bath towel (I brought my own but ended up using the hospitals since I didn't want to stain mine with blood. Yes, you will be bleeding after giving birth!)
  • Body Wash (I just used theirs)
  • Shampoo/conditioner (I just used theirs. I was really just enjoying the hot water)
  • Pads (They had extra large pads that I used and saved mine for at home, not pictured above)
  • Pack of underwear (Again, I used the cloth diapers they gave me that were actually really comfy, not pictured above)
  • Diaper cream (Didn't end up needing any diaper cream plus they had some if we did)

I brought and didn't use:

  • Camera (We brought our nice camera but ended up just using our phones. This would be good if you have someone else to take pictures, not pictured above)
  • Hot/cold breast pads (Good to have but I didn't need them in the hospital. I did use them during that first week of breastfeeding)
  • Baby Powder (Didn't need, not pictured above)

Anything I missed or something you had in your hospital bag that you couldn't live without?

Moms and Babes Box Winter

Subscription boxes are the new thing! They have them for everything from razors to fishing lures to treats for your pets. I have always loved Jana Kramer since I saw her on One Tree Hill well more like loved to hate her character. Then I heard her real life story and thought it was amazing how she persevered through everything she experienced. I follow her on social and saw this Moms and Babes box. I looked into it and turns out it is another subscription box made just for moms- https://momsandbabesbox.com/.

There are 3 box choices: moms, moms/toddlers, and moms/infants. I have a 4 month old so I went with the infant one and decided to try out the Winter Box before getting a subscription.

Below you can see the list of items and a video of us unpacking the box. We were opening it for the first time. (The one box has little baby booties not soap.)

After receiving the box, I just might need to look into getting a future subscription. I love the variety of products in the box. My baby is already going crazy for the Mickey teether!

Thanks Jana and Sarah!

Trailer Nursery Remodel

With a baby here, we need a nursery. Living in a trailer can make a nursery hard to create but we decided to do a little remodeling. Our dining room table is never used, except to throw stuff on as we walk in the door (what table isn't). We took out the table and put in a changing table and crib. We had to find smaller versions of each to fit but they work great.

Before

After

Don't worry, we will be removing the pillows before placing the baby in the crib! They are just for decoration now.

Update:
We are home and have most of the stuff organized and where it should be but baby stuff will always be everywhere.

Check out the video tour below:

What does your nursery look like?

Cowboy Baby Shower

I was lucky to have two baby showers, one on the East Coast and one on the West Coast. This one was on the West Coast hosted by my mother-in-law. They live on a ranch so it seemed fitting for the theme to be cowboy! We kept it small and had a great time.

First, we played some games.

The first was match the animal to its baby name. For example "cat" would be "kitten". How many do you know? The other game we played was the Price is Right. We had them tell us whether the current prices were higher or lower. Which do you think are higher or lower?

We gave out some Bacon Bark (dark chocolate with almonds and bacon) as prizes and everyone got to select a succulent to take home.

Next, we ate some delicious food. We had a creamery (cheese plate), veggie garden (veggie platter), haystacks (rice krispies), Yum Yum (pork roast), and cow chips (cheesecake brownies).

Last, we opened presents. My husband was able to be here in person to help me open them all. We had a good laugh at some of them. My mom, an ER nurse, sent us a medical records book while his mom made sure to get a bunch of "grandma" bibs.
We all had a blast and were thankful for our friends and family that could join!

What was your baby shower theme?

Nautical Baby Shower

Being in the military is tough when you live away from family. Half our family lives on the East Coast and the other half lives on the West Coast. I am lucky enough to have two great families that each threw me a baby shower on opposite sides of the country. My mom threw me one in Florida in October with a Nautical Theme. She did an amazing job with the help of my sister and grandma. Check it out!

Ahoy It's a Boy!

We had some delicious food all with a nautical theme. We had everything from crab-wiches to dips and egg boats. The cake was even in the shape of an anchor.

Everyone signed "The Rainbow Fish" with a special message to the baby. We played games like guess how many Sweedish Fish and don't say the word "baby". If you said "baby" and someone heard, they could take your lifesaver necklace.

We played other games such as match up the baby word to the candy bar. An example is "baby poop" matched up with "raisinets". How many do you know?

The other game we played was the story game where every time you hear "left" or "right", you must pass that direction. My grandma came up with the story about Lloyd and I! At the end of the story, everyone had the chance to open their gift and and turns out it was all baby items that I got to keep. My dad couldn't quite fit in his onsie!

My husband even got to skype in for a few minutes and say hi to everyone.

The shower was beautiful and I was so happy to see everyone in Florida. Being stationed across the country, I don't get the chance to see my East Coast family and friends very often.

Be sure to check out on Thursday my West Coast baby shower my mother-in-law threw for me!

Amazon Baby Registry Welcome Box

Registries are always fun to create but hard to decide where to select your items from. For our wedding registry, we chose Bed Bath and Beyond because they had everything we needed. For our baby registry, we chose Amazon because of the wide variety of items to choose from plus all the benefits.

One of the benefits is a registry completion discount - 15% off anything from your registry 60 days before and after your due date. This discount can be used on 2 orders so be sure to add it all to your cart!

Another benefit is the registry welcome box. Each box is different and the items vary with what is in stock. Below is what is included in my box.

  • Boon baby bottle
  • Tommee Tippee Baby Bottle
  • Seventh Generation sample box with diapers, wipes and coupons
  • Britax Coupons
  • Huggies wipes pack - 36 count
  • Cetaphil wash and shampoo - 1.7 fl oz sample
  • Johnson's wash and shampoo - 1.7 fl oz sample
  • NUK Orthodontic pacifiers - pack of 2
  • Moon and Back onesie for 3-6 months
  • SwaddleMe Swaddle blanket
We received some great items that I am excited to try out. Each baby is different and you never know what brand they will like best.

Where did you register for your baby?
